To setup a fingerprint login in Windows 10, open the Windows Settings window clicking the gear icon on the start menu. Click Accounts once the Windows Settings window opens.

Click Sign-in options on the left panel and click Windows Hello Fingerprint on the right panel and click the Set up button.

On the appearing window, click the Get Started button. If you have ever setup the fingerprint login before, you will be prompted to enter your PIN. If you haven’t done it yet, you will be prompted to enter a new PIN. A PIN is required. It will be used as a backup login method when Windows 10 failed to recognize your fingerprint.

On the next step, you will be prompted to touch the fingerprint reader. Follow the on-screen instructions to properly setup your fingerprint position. You will be prompted to lift and re-touch the fingerprint reader several times until all lines on the fingerprint image on the screen turn to blue.

On the next step, you will be prompted to touch the fingerprint reader with a different angle. If on the previous step above you touched the fingerprint reader in a horizontal angle, you can no try the vertical angle. Click the Next button to start touching the fingerprint reader.

If everything goes well, you should see the following message, meaning that you have successfully setup the fingerprint login.

You can now login to your Windows 10 system using your fingerprint. Simply touch the fingerprint reader every time you want to login.
