Employee Technology Accounts

Microsoft Employee Technology Accounts and Systems

1. All employees have a Microsoft account. Campus computers, wifi, and Office.com use your Microsoft account.

2. Your Microsoft username is preferred firstname_lastname (John_Smith).

3. Obtain your default Microsoft password from your supervisor. Changing your Microsoft password in one system changes the password in all systems using your Microsoft password.

4. Your Microsoft account requires two-step authentication when off campus and for doing self-service password resets. When logging in to your account for the first time, you setup authentication. You must verify your identity with a text or a phone call each time you access Office.com.

5. Your IVCC email address is preferred [email protected] ([email protected])

6. To forward your IVCC email, visit the settings, (gear icon), in the upper right-hand corner of the Outlook web app.

IVCC Phone System

To make an external call

  1. Dial 7 + 1 + the number
  2. Examples: 7+1+815+2351400 for a local number

To dial 911

  • Dial 911. NOTE: 7+911 WILL NOT WORK!

How do I change my Greeting?

  1. Log into your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 3 for Set-Up Options
  3. Press 1 for Busy Greeting
  4. At the tone, re-record your greeting, or press #

to keep the current recording.

  1. Exit your mailbox by hanging up.

How do I Change my Password?

  1. Log into your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 8 for Set-Up Options
  3. Enter Code and press #

 

Passwords can be alphanumeric.

How do I change my Recorded Name?

  1. Log into your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 3, 1
  3. At the tone, record your name, or press # to

keep the current recording.

  1. Exit your mailbox by hanging up.

To transfer a call

  1. During a call, press the Transfer soft key. This puts the call on hold.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  3. After the party answers, announce the call and press Transfer.
  4. Hang up.

To access your voicemail internally

  1. Press the Messages button and follow the voice instructions.

Press 1 is to play new messages.

To access your voicemail from off campus

  1. Dial IVCC's number (1-815-224-0620).
  2. Enter your extension followed by #.
  3. Enter your password followed by #.

To put a call on hold

  1. Press the Hold soft key.
  2. To return to the call, press the Resume soft key.
